AICHI TRIENNALE 2019 Toyota Venues Artist
NOTICE: This is not official translation. Sorry for my broken English :)
Tomotosi's artwork at the Aichi Triennale 2019 begins with an email sent to the Toyotori team(that is a civil volunteer team for cheer up to Aichi Triennale 2019 Toyota Venues) .
“I will present my work at the venue just below Toyota-city Station.
The other day, when I was digging up the soil of the venue to make my work, suddenly I found something that looked like ruins!
I went to hear the opinion of a scholar I knew.
An archaeologist said, "If you dig more, you'll see. There may be many traces of life in this place.".
I thought it would be more appropriate to excavate the area with people living in Toyota City than with me alone. And I began to think that it would be interesting to present "Excavation of the site itself" as a work of Aichi Triennale.Tomotosi is an artist who observes places and people. He visualizes the strange distortion of the public nature of the place through the people in the place.
